These four watches are the perfect inspiration for my first personal post. Some watches come and go throughout the years, but these four watches will forever stay in my collection as they hold a special place in my heart. These watches were all gifts from my wife (@wifeofawis), in chronological order (left being the oldest).
She first gave me the Casio G-Shock many years ago.... This was years before I was even interested in watches. Way before I became a WIS. That is how well she knows me!!! Back then, I could not understand why people would spend more than $300 on any watch. What I loved most about this watch was the metal bracelet, since I thought G-Shocks were only available on rubber.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer she gave me after I proposed to her. She said it was not fair that ladies get diamond rings while the guys usually get nothing in return. Right there, right then, I knew I had chosen the right one. Blue dial on a diver watch, what is there not to like?
The Rolex Submariner (ref. 116610LV) I received on one of my birthdays the same year the watch was released in Basel World. I know she worked very hard to get it and I am forever thankful for her love. I still remember when I first saw the press release photos of the "Hulk", it was love at first sight.
The newest one is the Chanel J12 Diver. After giving up my old Chanel J12, she wanted me to have another one so that I could match hers. It certainly feels great to be back in the J12 family. A much more stealthier watch compared to my old white ceramic ;-).
Also notice that all the mechanical watches have a "color" scheme, this is not a coincidence. She wanted each one of them to be somewhat colorful, special in their own way. Yes, I am very blessed to be married to this amazing woman that not only puts up with my watch obsession, but also helps add killer pieces to my collection.
