The first arrival for 2016 was completely unexpected and a bit of an impulse buy. I was perusing several watch forums and websites (like I usually do) when I found this beauty on sale for a price that I could not resist... and being the sucker that I am for great deals I pulled the trigger. And I am glad that I did :-).

I have always loved the Chanel J12 and this particular piece has been on my radar for several years. The Chanel J12 holds a special place in my heart for several reasons... My second "nice" watch was a white Chanel J12 with diamond indices (which now belongs to my wife). A controversial piece for any man to wear... most people see the J12 as a woman's watch, specially in white. However, I was a lot younger back then and did not think I had a problem pulling off a white watch with a few diamonds ;-). But most importantly, I really love the overall design of the J12. As a side note, the deployant buckle on the bracelet is simply genius. Easily the most comfortable deployant buckle I have ever worn.
The Chanel J12 is not the usual choice for most men, but I love it.
Just remember, buy what you love.
The polished hands and polished applied arabic numerals create contrast against the black background.
If you want a black watch, ceramic is the way to go.
